Three Workers rescue a Wild Wolf struggling in the icy Waters!

Saving a wolf is just as good as Saving a dog All animals need our help as we need theirs.

What began as a routine day for three dam workers in Estonia turned into an extraordinary encounter with nature.
Three compassionate workers rushed to save what they believed was a dog struggling in a freezing river—completely unaware that they were actually rescuing a wild wolf.

The men were working near the Sindi dam on the Parnu River when they noticed the animal [tr.app.ed] in the icy water. After breaking a path through the ice, they pulled the shivering creature out and transported it to a nearby clinic for emergency care.

It wasn’t until later that they discovered the “dog” they had bundled into their car was, in fact, a wolf.
According to the Estonian Union for the “Protection of Animals (EUPA)”, the wolf’s low blood pressure upon arrival at the veterinary office likely explained why it remained so calm as the men carried it to safety and warmed it inside their vehicle.

Rando Kartsepp, one of the rescuers, told the Estonian newspaper Postimees:
“We had to carry him up the slope. He was pretty heavy.”
“He was calm and even slept on my legs. When I tried to stretch them, he just lifted his head for a moment,” he added.

Although veterinarians suspected the “dog” might actually be a wolf, it was a local hunter—familiar with the area’s wolf population—who confirmed it was a young male, about one year old.

Armed with that realization, clinic staff placed the wolf in a cage after treatment, anticipating it might become less gentle once regained strength.

The EUPA covered the [cost] of the wolf’s care and [re.po.rt.ed] that “luckily, everything turned out well.”

The wolf made a swift recovery and, after being fitted with a GPS collar by national environmental agency researchers, was released back into the wild.

The EUPA said: We are thrilled with how this story ended and deeply grateful to everyone involved—especially the men who rescued the wolf and the courageous veterinarians who treated a wild animal without hesitation”.

Estonia is home to several hundred wolves, only a few of which have been collared in recent years. Typically, wolves avoid human contact.

Wolves are so beautiful ❤️ They are also loving, highly intelligent, animals, their packs are their family, and they care for each other, but young wolves will go seeking a mate to create their own packs, hence the term ‘lone wolf’

THANK YOU to those workers and the vet. Glad it was someone that cared!!❤️❤️❤️
