Béatrice Picard, the legendary Quebec actress who voiced Marge Simpson in the French-Canadian (Quebec) dub of The Simpsons for over 33 years, passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 96.
She was born on July 3, 1929, in Montreal, and had an incredible career spanning more than 75 years in theater, television, radio, and film. In Quebec, she was a cultural icon and one of the most beloved voices in dubbing.
The photo with Marge Simpson next to her is a touching tribute because her voice literally was Marge for millions of French-speaking Canadians. Many people grew up hearing her distinctive warm and funny voice every week on TV.

Her death was confirmed by her family and widely reported by reputable Canadian media (CTV News, CBC, Le Journal de Montréal, etc.) on December 9–10, 2025.

What makes her so special?

Marge Simpson’s voice: Picard was the French-Quebecer voice of the iconic character Marge Simpson on The Simpsons for 33 seasons (from 1992 until the end), making her a household name for generations. This connection – which explains why the image has Marge with her big blue hair next to Picard’s photos – is a touching homage to her favorite role.
Her career: She starred in classic series such as Cré Basile, Symphorien and Les Brillant, as well as in films such as Once Upon a Time in the East and The Outlander. She was one of the pioneers of Quebec television in the 1950s, being named “Miss Radio-Télévision” in 1952.
Personal life: She was an independent and enthusiastic woman who spoke to the end of her love of theatre and family life. Her family confirmed the death in an official statement, saying she “celebrated life to the end” and died peacefully in her sleep.
