President Donald Trump has signed an executive order aimed at blocking federal funding and support for gender-affirming medical care for minors.
The order directs federal agencies to stop financing or promoting puberty blockers, hormones, or surgical procedures for individuals under 19, and calls for new regulations to restrict access to such treatments.
The policy also withdraws previous federal guidance based on standards from international transgender health organizations and instructs health officials to re-examine existing medical research.
